As an approved contractor for Conwy & Denbighshire Councils we are subject to stringent controls. All vehicles receive regular safety inspections by us every 12 weeks for cars and 8 weeks for minibuses. The transport sector is regulated by different bodies, for vehicles with 8 or less passenger seats (private hire), local authority regulations are in force, whereas vehicles with 9 or more seats are regulated by central governments regional offices, we come under the Welsh Traffic Area in Birmingham. The private hire vehicles are also subject to 6 monthly council inspections as part of the licensing regulations, whereas the PSV vehicles are inspected every 8 weeks as part of the licensing rules, with an annual inspection at a Ministry testing station. All drivers of Private Hire vehicles are vetted by the licensing authority and issued with an identity badge, containing their photograph, Name and expiry date. Drivers of PSV vehicles do not have such an identity badge, however they are police checked by the local authority, and should carry their photo card drivers license, bearing their name and photograph, all our PSV vehicles have our name and number on them. |
